La Patrona Polo and Equestrian Club is set in a 20,000 hectare eco - reserve in the sovereign state of Nayarit in Mexico.
The dream was brought to life by founders Ivan Echeverria and Gabrielle Weber, passionate environmentalists and polo players who transformed the resort from a small exhibition polo field on the edge of a little town, to the huge nature reserve in the heart of the virgin jungle that it is today.
Its unique architecture was conceived to perfect the integration of form and proportion with the surrounding landscape, in order to highlight its natural beauty, whilst protecting the environment and the region’s abundant biodiversity.
The bioclimatic pyramid structures are crafted with locally sourced materials, to optimize water and energy use and maintain temperature integrity.
Horse trainers, grooms, developing players and staff are all local employees making up a vital part of the wider eco-system that defines the La Patrona ethos.
